It's time to bring on a bad guy... Hathiris! Hathiris is a "demi-god"... the son of Hathor, the Egyptian goddess of love. Who is his father? Hathor isn't telling, tho it's supsected that he comes from the Norse pantheon.

In my universe, the gods of mythology retreated to a dimension that is attached to our world. From there, they can be worshipped, look in on their followers, and even intervene if they feel like it. They have made a pact to not directly go to Earth, tho the gods can choose an avatar, or enter in a mortal form. Hathiris does not care about the pact, and comes and goes as he will. He is selfish and stubborn, and willing to take what he wants.

It's Helldawn, one of the bad guys in my universe. He actually comes from an alternate universe, and is that reality's version of Yugere. Yugere has traveled the multiverse, and has met alternate versions of himself. Helldawn is the evil version. While not as powerful, Helldawn is vile, and willing to do his best to steal power from his counterpart. He's even crossed realities to do so!

Now I know that this could have been a better sketch. I did a quickie sketch of what I wanted Helldawn to look like, and then did a quickie ink job, and will likely do a quickie colour job eventually. However, I wanted to get the idea down, and then get something added to this blog. :)

Pictured here are three sketch cards I've drawn up of my original characters: Isaac, Atlas Parker, and Mr. Amazing. While these are on the "beefcake" side of things, there are plenty of ACEO / Sketch Cards available in my eBay store. Check them out - they're a nice piece of original art for less than $10! Sketch cards are meant to be a quick piece of original art at an affordable price. I take the time to turn out a nice card, but at the same time I don't spend all day on just one card.

I am available for commissions. Just send me an email - dynakor@yahoo.com I usually charge $11.95 for a card commission. I send scans of the pencils for approval, the inks, and then the final product. I always wait for approval before moving on to the next stage with the card. I'm open to most things, tho I reserve the right to refuse or to negotiate the content of a commission. (I mostly stay away from horror.) You can see more of my art at my deviantArt gallery.

Here's another America Anne piece, penciled by me and inked by James Mitchell. James and I did some art trades in the 1990's. He was doing his own comic fanzine then, with original stories and heroes. It was called Mission: Genesis. Good story, and engaging characters. Unfortunately, we lost track of each other. James, if you're out there, drop me a line!

In my universe, America Anne got her start during the 1940's. She was given powers, including some mild electrical generation and control, put into a costume, and sent off to sell war bonds! Even tho the government just wanted to use her as a symbol to promote patriotism, she managed to go off on her own and do some crime-fighting and spy smashing! She even organized the heroes of the time into a super-team. As the war was ending, she got pushed forward in time, and has only recently reappeared... (see the forth-coming Adventure Squad Comics #1 for details!)

Meet Silver Midnight. She is in charge of my villain group, the Fatality League. Many years ago, she was a heroine, tho it was in name only. When the Azure Sorceress, one of Silver's few friends, turned to evil, Silver decided that it was time to pursue her own agenda in a more direct manner. Silver is more selfish than evil, tho she is willing to hurt or kill someone to get her way. She eventually formed the Fatality League as a means of fighting against the Adventure Squad.

Silver has the ability to manipulate the ambient, natural energy that is often classified as magic. She has even learned many spells, and continues to study. Silver is much older than she appears. She has a son, in his 20's, named Malcolm.

Of my heroes and heroines, she is a personal fave. She's fun! She was inspired by Yvonne Craig's Batgirl from the 1960's Batman tv show. (Anyone else notice that Batgirl drove a motorcycle with a bow on it?) Lavender (aka Samantha Beaubier) has no powers, but has been clever enough to invent or modify weapons to suit her needs. She has studied martial arts and is a skilled fighter. She is furthering her martial arts studies with Adventuress. Lavender has been a member of the Adventure Squad for some time now.

I drew this to be a web-site header a while back. Still haven't gotten around to colouring it. I'm a slow colourist, mainly because I'm not the best at digital colouring. But, I continue to plod along and learn. I've come a long way with it since I first began.

I'll have some new art to post soon. I penciled up some pin-ups, and an SGF strip, at Comic Con Plus Jax last weekend. I'm gonna get out the inking brush and go to town on them later today, and hopefully get some colouring done this weekend!

Meet the Crimson Ring. Billy Annison inherited a a dull red ring from his grandmother. When he placed it onto his finger, ordinary Billy was transformed into the heroic form of the Crimson Ring. (Yes, we keep hoping he'll choose a new name too, but he is only 18!) The ring amps up his natural abilities, but also creates weapons for him to use, commonly a sword. When his grandmother wielded the ring, it created guns for her. Of course, she was busy helping to fight a World War.

Meet Yugere, a recent addition to the Adventure Squad. Yugere is Codii Welleams, the son of Eryk Wonder (former hero) and the Azure Sorceress (former heroine gone bad). He commands magick, but also possesses super-strength, invulnerability, and the power to fly. His strength and durability allow Yugere to cast spells that many humans are not able to do (dragon magick, for example). Thanks to longevity spells placed on him at birth, Yugere is older than he looks.

I love Nate's work. The top drawing is of Carl, from Friends Of Tyler. It was a full-size sketch.

Next, we get into some sketch cards. In the batch of 4, they are L'Aigle Vert (top left), Animal (top right), Unnyit (bottom left), and Yugere (bottom right). Now, Animal doesn't belong to me. He comes from Tippy Teen, and old Archie Comics clone from the 1960's, published by the same people who brought you the Thunder Agents!

The next two cards are: Gene (left) and Clyde Didit (right). Gene is another Friends Of Tyler character. Clyde appeared in Josie in the late 1960's, just before the strip became Josie & The Pussycats. He's another fave, and I have tons of fan art of him! :) I'll give the low down on who the various characters are later... just wanted to share some art!

Meet the Friends Of Tyler. I created these characters a while back... Tyler, Carl, and Natalie were created back in the 1990's, when I was doing a strip for a college newspaper and local gay newspaper. Tyler is gay - the big hairy guy. Carl and Natalie are his best friends. They are also cousins. The three of them grew up in the same neighborhood, and have been best friends since they were young. They are all college freshmen. There are a couple other characters in the cast, but these are the three featured here.

The top strip was done when I was trying to do a weekly web-strip with them. Weekly strips are difficult! I've actually had a difficult time getting their story started. I've gotten a few strips done tho, and now have ideas set for stories. The second strip appeared in the Prism Guide, for 2010 I believe. I was thrilled to be included, and drew this strip to feature both the FOT characters, and a couple of my super-heroes.

I have lots of "beefcake" art on the Friends Of Tyler characters, and will be sharing that here... as well as more Super Galaxy Femmes and other characters...

I'm sure that most of you know I draw up those funny little trading sized cards of original art that are often referred to as Sketch Cards or ACEO's. Now, these cards are of three of my original heroes: Atlas Parker, Mr. Amazing, and The Grey Warrior.

Here it is folks... the very first Super Galaxy Femmes web-strip, perpetrated by me! A big thanks to pal Christian for the posing joke!

The SGF existed before. I had been self-publishing little photo-copied fanzine comics. Maybe 12 people total saw them. Maybe. Anyway, their name there was less than flattering, and I decided they needed a bit of a revamp, tho I wanted to keep them funny!

Look for more SGF web-strips, both old and new, to appear!

Agent Albert Christopher

Meet government agent, Albert Christopher. Albert is a fearless agent, battling many of the troubles that have cropped up since Yzida left. He most notable has been attempting to topple the organization that Ruby Riot has been building. After several encounters with Yugere, Albert was assigned as liason to the Adventure Squad. Now that his duty is a little less official, Albert will "loosen up" and let his true style show thru.

This excellent drawing was done by Nate Stockman of Ireland. Serenity Star

Well folks, this is a quickie colour view of new character, Serenity Star. He is one of the heroes of an alternate world that my main group, the Adventure Squad, will be meeting up with soon.

With my sketchbook having been published (check it out at: http://www.indyplanet.com/index.php?id=4995), I have been trying to decide what to do for the second book... I don't have enough Super Galaxy Femmes for a full book, and Adventure Squad is still in the works. A while back, I had planned a "beefcake" book... it would have some preview stories and lots of pin-ups of hunky heroes, and some sexy heroines as well. I might be bringing this idea back, pin-ups and all! Keep your eyes open, and feel free to weigh in with your ideas.

I will try to become better at this blogging thing. I will post information and pictures about various characters, and try to link things up with my art card and photography blogs.

Batgirl & Headlights

Here are Batgirl and Headlights. Yes - Headlights is a real character... She had 1 issue of her comic published in the 1990's, by Personality Comics I believe. Her power was that car headlights had been implanted in her breasts. The concept had the makings for a fun romp and a poke at all the "Bad Girl" stuff that was going on then, but the art and story fell short. The best thing about the comic was the cover! Still, I took a shine to Headlights, and used her in a fan art strip I did for an amateur press association - - the strip was pure silliness, but fun.

Today I drew one of my original characters, Gene. And yes, Gene's bein' a little sexy here... showing off his hairy chest and his briefs... Woo hoo!

Fighting Yank

This is the AC Comics version of Fighting Yank. AC Comics has done a better job with FY, and the other characters than Project: Superpowers does. AND they've been doing it longer. The main difference is that AC Comics has a retro feel to them, and P:S is using old character to tell modern stories. Seek out the AC Fighting Yank series. It's a wild ride thru the Silver-Age with tongue planted firmly in cheek, and fabulous Kirby-esque art!
