Dowtai

sketch card commission: my brief was to draw a hero who wears a more traditional costume, and how does he either wear it under his regular clothes, or keep it on-hand. I was allowed to create a new character If I wanted.

Meet Dowtai, which translates to Thai Star. Named Kongpob Madison at birth, and going by the nickname of Kong, he has an American father and Thai mother. Kong grew up fairly equally in both Thailand and America. He attended college in both countries too, getting his degree in Thailand. In college, he studied engineering, while his roommate studied applied sciences. Together, they created the stellar battery system. Meant as a personal powering system, they soon learned that it had battle capabilities. After an attempted theft of the system, by corporate spies, the pair made a show out of "destroying" the system and their notes.

In secret, they recreated it, making it smaller, and housing it in a pair of bracelets and a neck piece made of a thin metal. Kong, who had always been athletic, decided to also make a costume. Using thin sports material, he is able to wear the leggings under his pants. He often carries the shirt and cape in his personal body bag, folded down very small. One day, he had the opportunity to don his costume and he debuted as Dowtai.

The system draws upon ambient stellar energy, as well as storing solar energy. He can fly, has enhanced strength, has a protective field, and can shoot energy blasts while wearing the bracelets. It's possible that more can be done, but the limits of the system have yet to be fully tested.

Transform

Transform, the third story in my Knights of Sun and Star series is now available.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09459P3SZ

I realize that it's been a while since I updated this blog. This is meant to be about my comics, and this is related. I've had so much trouble pulling everything together to get a comic complete, I decided to start writing short stories. The idea is that each story would be comparable to a comic book.

Knights of Sun and Star, which does take place in my super hero universe, follows Pete as he goes to Bangkok, meets Sun (Arthit), and they both become Knights. It pulls influences from comics, fantasy novels, Thai BL dramas, Sailor Moon, and much more.

I encourage you to check the series out and let me know what you think.

Take Care!

The Werewolf

Card commission based on Dell's Werewolf. I gave the character a total make-over (at the client's request). Instead of being just a super-hero spy, there is a bit of mystery around this Werewolf. Is it a costume? Or is it real? Maybe it's a bit of both!
